year brought a host of unprecedented health and economic issues that many
people were unprepared for and yet, the pandemic we are all experiencing also
comes with a host of opportunities that can help us change our personal and professional
lives for the better.
and social distancing have given us “the gift of time” to start making
proactive changes in our health, life style, financial planning, and
businesses. This is a time for us to
become more productive rather than fall deeper into procrastination.
challenging times of the Coronavirus, social distancing and quarantining, it is
important to find uplifting things that will help ease the soul. Here are a few
of the things I have been applying into my daily ritual:
1) I listen to positive pod-casts and have
enrolled in on-line self-development programs.
2) Work-out, this is a great way to keep
in shape during this #stayhomemn. You will feel better after an intense workout
and yes look great as well.
3) Reach out to family and friends, talk
about how you are feeling, and encourage open conversation.
There are people in this life
who always seem to be in the right place at the right time. Knowing yourself and making a conscious
effort to push forward, you can create your own opportunities in 2019 or find
ones that fit what you’re looking for too.
Anything you do should come
out of a sense of who you are. Ask those closest to you to answer the following
question: What am I naturally good at?
By projecting confidence, you
encourage others to view you as an expert in your skills.
HAPPY NEW YEAR 2019!
The New Year is upon us! This
is the best time of the year to create and commit to our goals for the New
Year. While I was away for the holidays and sitting by the ocean, I found myself reflecting on some of my blessings
of 2018, the birth of my grandson Logan, the adoption of my granddaughter Eden, watching my grandson Jax turn 3, my wonderful work projects, and overall family. Giving Thanks for the year we
are leaving behind is important as we set our goals for the New Year.
Autumn is the season we normally
think about going back to school, accomplishing our career goals, and looking
for a strong finish towards the end of the year. It is also the time of year that we must give
thanks and express our gratitude for the many people who have helped us along
the way towards achieving those goals and it is a time to count our many
This season, I am grateful to
all my family and friends for supporting me in so many ways. Whether it has
been volunteering to help serve on some kind of upcoming Spring Conference Toastmasters
Committee, registering for my own class offerings, programs, and events, or
simply getting together for some real quality “face to face” time to enjoy my
life’s mantra of “Good Food!
"Autumn is an artist who uses
an oak leaf on which to paint a masterpiece." --- William Allen Ward
Fall is here, my favorite
time of the year. I love the wonderful
colors, cool nights, bonfires, football, caramel apples, my Grandson Jaxon's
Birthday....I could go on and on.
In the spring blog I talked
of rebirth and rejuvenation. With the fall season, I look within and reevaluate
where I am going and what needs to be let go of. Just like the falling leaves, sometimes we
need to let go of what is not working or no longer aligns with our true self.
It's time for Spring cleaning and getting things in order. There is house work, yard work, and also personal self work.
That's right! This is the perfect season to work on self. This is the perfect season to find some sense of balance and harmony.
Take inventory of the people, activities, and things that enrich your life. Value those, treasure them, hold them dear and close, and show your appreciation. Always count your blessings. By contrast, take inventory of the things that subtract from your life and throw them out to make room for more fulfilling experiences and adventures.
Spring is here, a time of
rebirth and new life! I always feel rejuvenated, revitalized, and refocused in the Spring.
As I talked about in my New Year Blog, "This is what new life and the
new year is all about, the opportunity to begin again, to look at the world
with fresh eyes and believe that anything is possible." This holds true
for Spring. Look around you and see the new buds blossoming and the green grass
coming in. We all have the opportunity to grow and blossom into our full
Gratitude & Goal-setting are 2 of the most important keys for living a successful life!
As one year ends and another begins, I view each year as a chapter in a book, the story of my life.
Each one of us is the author of our own lives. We make choices that impact the quality of our life. Most people think there are good choices and bad choices. I believe there are no bad choices, we just make the best decisions we can with the information and skills we have at the time of making those choices.
The New Year is upon us. We all have another opportunity to start
fresh and begin again.
Each new year's week, I find myself in Playa at my
timeshare overlooking the ocean reflecting on the past year and setting goals
for the new year.
This past year my
first Grandson, Jax , was born. He has
given me such a renewed vision. Each time I hold him or just look at him, I
feel rejuvenated and revitalized. This is what new life and new year is all
about, the opportunity to begin again.
